The tugger train as a complete system
A tugger train is an industrial truck for internal transport tasks and essentially consists of three components: a towing vehicle, a trailer (load carrier) and a good carrier with the goods to be transported. The combination of these components makes it possible to move different materials in a single transport cycle.
In tugger train logistics, the train is usually loaded at a central location (warehouse or ‘supermarket’) and then follows a predetermined route. Materials are delivered or empties are collected at the individual stations. This principle reduces individual transports and ensures a steady supply of materials to production.
Tugger train types and degrees of automation
With the FACTORY TRAIN tugger train system, Neumaier Industry offers a highly flexible concept that can be configured to be completely manual, semi-automated or fully automated, depending on your requirements. The optimal system configuration is selected based on your processes, transport volumes and general conditions.
Manual tugger trains
Manual tugger trains are particularly suitable for structured transport tasks requiring a high degree of flexibility and manageable automation requirements. The FACTORY TRAIN FT200, FT500 and FT800 series cover load capacities from 1,000 to 3,000 kg per trailer or load carrier and are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Semi-automated tugger trains
Semi-automated tugger trains combine manual and automated processes, enabling step-by-step automation of intralogistics.
Automated driving and manual loading/unloading
The tugger train moves driverless along defined routes, while loading and unloading is carried out by employees. This variant is ideal for reducing the workload on driving personnel while increasing process reliability.
Manual driving and automated loading/unloading
In this configuration, the operating personnel take over the driving of the tugger train, while loading and unloading is automated. This variant is particularly suitable for frequently changing routes with high throughput volumes.
Fully automated/autonomous tugger trains
One of Neumaier Industry's particular areas of expertise is the development of fully automated tugger trains. We offer a total of four different series.
The FACTORY TRAIN FT600 and FT900 series are designed for combined indoor and outdoor operation and can be seamlessly integrated into existing AGV and intralogistics systems. Both series are particularly suitable for material supply and goods removal on production lines.
The FT1100 and FT1200 series were specially designed for driverless transport with large-format platform trucks. They enable autonomous transport solutions indoors and outdoors for large quantities of material as well as for heavy and oversized loads.

Factory Train – Manual tugger train series
FT200
The FT200 is the compact, purely mechanical entry-level solution for manual tugger train applications and is ideal for standardised Euro pallet formats and smaller loads in production supply.
FT500
The FT500 offers a higher transport capacity than the FT200 for heavier loads and features an electric lift and electric steering for reliable and ergonomic continuous use in demanding intralogistics environments.
FT800
The FT800 is a powerful manual tugger train series designed for heavy loads and long transport distances, and specially developed for outdoor use.
Factory Train – Automated tugger train series
FT600
The FT600 is an automated tugger train for efficient indoor and outdoor production supply and can be flexibly integrated into existing material flow and AGV concepts. The FT600 is particularly notable for its high-precision lift positioning during automated loading and unloading processes.
FT900
The FT900 combines high pulling power with intelligent navigation and is suitable for complex, partially or fully automated intralogistics processes indoors and outdoors.
FT1100
The FT1100 is designed for particularly heavy loads (up to 6,000 kg) and enables stable, automated tugger train operation even under demanding environmental conditions.
FT1200
The FT1200 tugger train series can be used to automatically transport loads with a total weight of up to 12,000 kg in continuous 24/7 operation – both indoors and outdoors.
Modular system components of the Factory Train System
Load carrier
Our modular load carriers base systems with C-frames, E-frames, bracket frames and platform frames enable ergonomic, safe and process-stable tugger train logistics. Smart transport safety devices such as the Quick-Save system (QS) for platform load carriers ensure maximum process reliability.
Transport trolleys
We offer our standardised pallet chassis in four standard sizes and manufacture customised special load carriers on request. These systems form the basis for flexible tugger train solutions.
Tractors
The traction vehicles of the FACTORY-TRAIN system are available as manual or automated variants. We use tested Linde tractors as standard, but alternative manufacturers are possible after technical evaluation.
Technology & Equipment
Intelligent control, safety and energy concepts enable economical operation, high availability and seamless integration into existing logistics systems. Specially designed components and protection concepts from Neumaier Industry are available for outdoor use.
